My photo
My name is Sean. I'm 22. I go to Millersville University. I'm a sophmore and currently undeclared, but I'm leaning towards being either an English or History major. After school I would like to write novels. I like to write short stories, but I never seem to finish them. I have many hobbies. I like to listen to music. Some of my favorite bands are Pearl Jam, The Smiths, Saves The Day, Morrissey, Fiona Apple, PJ Harvey, Brand New, Face To Face, Coheed And Cambria, Depeche Mode, The Strokes, Elvis, Kiss, Queen, Neil Young, No Doubt, Prince, Megadeth etc. In addition to listening to music, I play music. I play the guitar and I play the bass guitar in the band Kill Big Riggs or KBR for short. I like to watch movies. I like Marlon Brando a lot and Harvey Keitel. Some of my favorite movies are Magnolia, Pulp Fiction, Ghost World, Mean Streets, Foxy Brown, Rushmore, Who's That Knocking At My Door?, Edward Scissorhands, and On The Waterfront. I also like to hang out with friends and family. I like to draw. I really like Pablo Picasso's artwork. I like to watch TV. I like Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Strangers With Candy, and Home Movies. I also like to watch mixed martial arts with my brother.

Alien Vs. Velociraptor And Other Scary Things

If a Velociraptor from Jurassic Park and an alien from the movie Aliens would fight who would win? I like Jurassic Park better than Aliens. I was obsessed w/ that movie and it's sequel back in the day. So I would love if the Velociraptor would win, but it would lose. Even if the raptor would get some good bites out of the alien, the alien oozes acid as a self defense mechanism and the raptor would be burned and probably die from the injuries. The alien also has regular arms while the raptor has those teeny tiny arms. The alien has a significant reach advantage and they also have several mouths too. And even if the raptor would somehow kill the alien, the alien would put a host in his body and it would burst out of the raptor's chest and he would die. The raptor could win the battle, but always lose the war. The alien has more ways to win and the raptor basically has no chance. And if the raptor would fight against the Queen Alien? They would be murdered. That thing was huge. But if they were on a spaceship fighting the raptor could always try to kick it out into space. You may be wondering why I'm talking about this. I have two action figures- one of the Velociraptor and one of the alien-on a table in my room and sometimes when I'm really really bored I make them fight each other. I also have a toy of Homer Simpson on the table, but he doesn't fight. I'm also talking about this because it's Halloween (well, technically it's not. It's tomorrow, but I don't think I'll have time to write a blog that day). The first 3 Alien movies and Jurassic Park and Lost World: Jurassic Park still scare me. I only saw parts of Alien Resurrection, but I saw it in Spanish and it was really funny. Sometimes I think about those movies in the shower and I get freaked out and I'm afraid to open the shower curtain because I'm afraid I'm going to be attacked by a Velociraptor. Those movies maybe more sci-fi than horror, but I don't really like horror that much. Some of it is pretty stupid. Like Child's Play 3. It's stupid, but at least it's funny. The Fly II is really funny/bad too. Me, Seth and a bunch of my friends watched it on Halloween 4 years ago because we wanted to watch a really bad movie. I had seen it before on AMC over the summer and I thought it would be a good choice. We just made fun of it the whole time, kind of like the show Mystery Science Theater 3000 did when they would make fun of bad movies. I saw the remake of Halloween with Lindsay 3 years ago and that was kind of messed up- like the scene where the kid is beaten to death w/ a big ass stick. And any movie with Kiss "God Of Thunder" in it can't be that bad. Right? I liked Bram Stoker's Dracula. I remember seeing it when I was like 5 or 6 and every time the weird sex scenes would come on my parents would tell me to turn around. It was pretty funny, but I saw it a few years ago again and I liked it, but it wasn't scary. Same thing w/ Silence Of The Lambs, etc. I like this one movie called Naked Lunch. I guess it's not really a horror movie, but there are typewriters that turn into talking bugs and a guy turns into a giant centipede and tears this one dude's skin off. That was kind of messed up. I think the Friday the 13th movies are  funny, but then again I've only seen a few parts form several different ones (which i guess is kind of like seeing one whole film of the series). I also liked Twilight Zone: The Movie a lot back in the day. Some of it was creepy, but I guess it really wasn't horror. Ecspecially that one segment about these old guys playing kick the can. What's scary about that?  I think the T Rex gets a bad wrap in the Jurassic Park movies. They're all afraid of him in the first one and want to avoid him, but they're too thankful for him to be there to eat those 2 raptors at the end so they can be saved. And in the 2nd one where he goes to NYC ( I think that was the city). In real life would he really start destroying the place and eating that one dude and that dog? I think he would be more confused than anything. Maybe he would try to scratch his head in confusion with those little arms. And it's not his fault he keeps stepping on all those cars. He's a T Rex. Give him some slack. I have no idea what I'm talking about. So that is my ode of sorts to Halloween. Here's some pics/a video of some scary things and I hope you enjoy. Seeya around.

A Very Purple Trick -Or -Treat

Pic from https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMCmG2uAVbShEs-5nkGYz_hebUtz59H7gzI07nkFOHY8X8pyQrLLWx949vJuYVQr5vuy8hCjzkiG-QRQu4hvukSPaBqxefJP6wtQNYzl6GDwli-3OKAPV039xp_b2WRKKtW0xmE0ZB86U/s400/shika.jpg

I didn't get a lot of sleep last night. But it was my fault I guess. It seems easier to blame others so I guess I'll start doing that in the future. After class I took a nap, but I had to take Seth to school. I had work at 5:30. I closed w/ Nikki. It was slow due to the fact that it was Trick-Or-Treat. I brought in The Misfits and a mix of Prince songs because I promised Nikki that I would many months ago, but never did. The Misfits are a good band to listen to during late October. Me and Seth were rocking out to their Static Age album while we were driving to school. All their songs are about monsters and horror movies so it makes sense to listen to them on Trick- or -Treat/Halloween, but I'm really in a Prince phase right now. I love his Gold Experience album that he released under the symbol he changed his name to. Every computer should have the symbol as one of the keys. Last Sunday me and Nikki tried to draw it on our dry erase board in the salad bar area, but it didn't look right. We had it backwards. I couldn't put all my favorite songs on the mix. No "Sexy M.F." or "7" or "Endorphinmachine" or "Shy" or "Pink Cashmere", but it did have "When Doves Cry", "When You Were Mine", "Sign O' The Times", "Strange Attraction", etc. I also put some of my favorite Prince guitar solos on there- the solos on "Shhh", "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man", "Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?", "I Hate U", and "Dolphin" are seriousally amazing. In high school there was a friend of mine who said Prince wasn't a very good guitar player. I got personally offended. Prince is amazing. His solos are really melodic. I like when guitarists just shred, but Prince makes his solos very catchy sounding. Weezer does that too and I love their guitar solos, but this blog isn't about Weezer. It's about Prince. I'm listening to his Chaos And Disorder album right now ( another album under his symbol moniker) and it's really good. Underrated in my opinion. So yeah work was fun today. Fake fighting w/ Nikki, checking out her new sound system in her car which is crazy loud ( some people like a lot of bass), rocking out to Prince and The Misfits, etc. Lindsay worked today too and she told me she got another job. She was going to school for medical billing and coding and now she has a job in that field. I'm really proud of her and she seems like she really likes it which is really cool. Now I got to think about what I'm going to do w/ my future..........That can wait. I'm just going to rock out to Prince for now (or beat up treat-or-treaters for candy. I haven't decided it yet.). I included some pics and videos of the man himself. Hope you enjoy. Seeya around.

I really really really want that suit

I'm A Little Sad These Days...

Pic from http://blogs.chron.com/fighting/2008/11/ufc_91_gabriel_gonzaga_vs_josh_1.html

I'm a little sad these days. Gabriel Gonzaga was cut from the UFC. Kind of sucks. I know that he could never beat the top guys in the heavyweight division and yeah he may always be remembered for his head kick KO victory over Mirko Cro-Cop ( which I saw when the event was airing live and it was crazy) But I've seen many of the fights that he won and they may have been against lesser competition, but he was always exciting. I like his submission wins against Justin Mccully and Carmelo Marrero in particular. I know that he should have used his BJJ more in his fights, but his hands are good. He rocked Shane Carwin before getting knocked out himself. I don't know. I just hope that he gets picked up by Strikeforce or some other promotion and show off his skills there because I know that he has them. Maybe he'll be able to get back in the UFC someday and win the championship. I will always believe in Gabriel Gonzaga. Always.

One of Gonzaga's Early Fights:
Gabriel Gonzaga Vs. Branden Lee Hinkle

Also the UFC and the WEC are merging. I'm kind of upset about that too. WEC events are always free and now that it won't be around anymore I would have to buy the pay per view. The WEC always puts on great cards and it sucks I won't see them anymore. Plus many UFC fighters will be cut to make room for the WEC fighters and vice versa. They should have just kept them seperate. Oh well.

Just Like Giving Birth (The Couch Story)

The past few days have been the usual- Monday band practice ( with an adventure to Wal Mart after wards) and Tuesday work. I also got my hair cut on Tuesday. I go to the Sheer Shack. They do good work. Yesterday after class I helped Nate move some of his things out of his apartment. He's moving out because he can't afford the rent anymore. I drove over to his place. There was so much traffic. I'm usaully not impatient while I'm on the road, but I was on that day. I listened to a Jimi Hendrix CD. I kind of had to because it got stuck in my car stereo. My stereo has been doing that a lot lately. I hate it. I got to his place. We went upstairs to his attic. He wanted to get this couch downstairs so he could take it back to Salvation Army. He compared getting the couch down the steps to giving birth. I guess the attic would be the womb and well I guess I don't have to go any further. I think you get the drift. We got the couch down most of the way until it got stuck. Half of the couch was hanging out of the doorway. We just couldn't get the rest down. A lot of the couch was stuck behind the railing. We tried to get it out, but we couldn't. In trying to get this huge couch down, we accidentally knocked the door down, chipped up the walls and hit the powerbox which is on one of the side of the walls of the attic. It created a spark of electrictiy and scared the crap out of both of us. We smelled something burning after wards, but everything was okay. The couch just wouldn't get down. We tried pulling at it, kicking it, etc. He knew that the couch could fold in, but the levers were not working. After many times trying and many breaks in between, we decided to take the railings off. That would give us enough space to get the couch the rest of the way down. Nate got a screwdriver and took all the nails out. After we did that, the couch became looser and we easily took it down the rest of the steps. My body was very soar, but I felt like I got a real workout in. We decided to leave the couch in his dining room instead of trying to get it out to his dad's van. I don't want to see that couch ever again. I hate that thing. It was such a pain in the ass. We took a few more things ( chairs, lamps, etc.) and loaded them up into Nate's dad's van. We took all of these things to Salvation Army. We dropped his van off at his parents house and he drove me back to his place in his car. Again there was no gas in it, but we got home. I'm going to miss Nate's apartment. It's a really nice place. In other news: Patrick Cote was cut from the UFC. I expected it, but I was still kind of bummed. Seth told me not to worry because Cote's been cut many times before and then brought back. He'll be alright.

Funday

There was this one episode of the 1990s Nickelodeon cartoon series Doug where Doug's alter ego Quailman invents a new day called Funday. It was a good episode, but I don't remember where he put Funday in the week. Seth is 100% sure that Funday was after Sunday. But here is my question: why? If Funday was after Sunday, all day Funday you would be thinking about having to go to bed early to wake up for school or work the next morning. On Funday you want to have fun and stay out late. Or at least that's what I think Quailman's intention was. Now I could go online and find out where exactly he put Funday, but I'm a busy and important man and I don't have time for things of that nature. But you may be wondering what the point of all this is. The point is I wish we would have an extra day on the weekend. It seems like Monday comes by too fast. I feel like I need another day to sleep in because I already barley get any sleep. I got only about 5 hours last night and I had to wake up early for school. I had my problem solving w/ computers class and my Modern Britain class. I like my Modern Britain class. It's really interesting. At first I thought the class wasn't going to be interesting. I thought with a class called Modern Britain we would learn about England from the 1900s on. We started in the 1600s and I was quite upset. I felt like I was misled. That era never seemed interesting to me. But I was wrong. I really like the class a lot. I usaully like History classes. I took a Russian History class a couple of semesters ago and I loved it. I'm thinking about having History as my minor and English as my major. I don't want to write about History, but I want to learn more about it so I think having it as my minor is a good idea. So yeah my class is pretty cool. It's pretty much the teacher lectures and the student writes down everything she says and you are tested on it. I like those type of classes where you just take notes the whole time. It's pretty much like my Russian History class. What else is going on in my life? It's unseasonably warm out today. I've been listening to Danzig's first album a lot. I'm probably going to be listening to a lot of  the Misfits this weekend. Being that Halloween is this weekend it only seems appropriate. I have to go back to school to pick up Seth and I'm probably going to have band practice later. I want to try to mention something else about Funday, you know, to try to tie up everything, but I can't think of anything so here's a picture of Quailman. Seeya around.

Blog # 2 Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love Nature

Another blog about my day. On Friday I woke up. Felt sick. I think I'm getting a cold. I went to my Modern Britain class. I then came back home, sat around for a couple hours and took Seth back to school for his class. I pretty much just sat in my car for an hour and tried to finish Hard Times. I didn't, but I'm close. It was Shane's (my older brother) birthday. He turned 27, but he still looks very youthful. I personally look like I'm 13 years old. Later that day I went to work. 5:30 to close. Pretty busy, but I closed with my friend Nikki. She likes Saves The Day and anyone who likes Saves The Day is cool by me. Well, I guess not everyone. If a serial killer liked Saves The Day I probably wouldn't like him. Anyways, Nikki is really cool. Lindsay was also there at work. I've known her for  5 years and she is one of my best friends so that also made my shift not-so-terrible. I came home and I was really tired. I fell asleep while I was brushing my teeth. I don't know how it happened, but it did and it was pretty freaky. Today I woke up and shaved. I had sort of a beard going on, but I know it would never look as good as Shane's so I shaved it all off and I have a lot of ugly looking cuts on my face to prove it. I ate a strawberry pop tart ( microwaved for 15 seconds. Forget the toaster) and 2 bowls of Fruity Pebbles. Breakfast Of Champions. Tonight I was going to go to my friend Hannah's Halloween party. She lives in Newmanstown which is 45 minutes away from my house. I didn't want to drive by myself because I have a history of getting lost when I try to go to places I've never been to. I was supposed to go with Lindsay, but she had things to do in Philly and was just going to meet me at Hannah's later. I was freaking out and worrying because I had no one to go with. I called Nate and asked him to go with me, but he said he couldn't and that he would rather hike. He told me to come over and maybe he could help me find the place beforehand. I drove over to his apartment in Lititz and before we were about to leave, Hannah texted me and said she canceled the party. It was kind of a bummer because I wanted to go, but what do you do when your plans are canceled? You hike. We took my car. First we decided to stop at Sheetz so he could hand in a lottery ticket and buy gum. You always need gum while you're hiking. We ran into Lindsay there and I told her the party was canceled. It was very nice seeing Lindsay and kind of strange that we ran into her. Me and Nate drove to the camping ground. I forget the name of the place. Millcreek? Maybe? Anyways the hike was really fun. It wasn't too cold out today and there were barley any clouds in the sky and the trees and the scenery looked very beautiful. I like hiking. Me and Nate went hiking before a few weeks back and it was fun, too. I'm surprised  because I'm pretty much against all types of physical activity. Me and Nate pretty much just waxed philisophical about life ( which is usaully what we do no matter what the surrounding is), etc. Nate does Nelly's "Air Force Ones" better than Nelly does it. Just saying. We also chewed gum. I like gum, but I don't know. It never lasts as long as the commercials says it does. Maybe my expectations are too high. An hour or 2 later we drove back to his place. We saw so much roadkill on the way there. It had to have been a record. I hate dead animals. It's a fear of mine. Every time I see one I shiver. We hung out a little bit longer. We hung out at his place for a while and at his parents house. We listened to a 2pac tape while he was driving with his gas tank on empty. It was tense, but we got to a gas station. I went home around 7:30-ish. UFC 121 was on and like usual a lot of my picks were wrong. I was happy that Matt Hamil and Cain Velasquez won. Velasquez is the new heavyweight champion after beating Brock Lesnar. I like him even if he did beat Cheick Kongo ( another one of my favorite fighters) about a year ago. I don't like Brock Lesnar. I remember when he wrestled for the WWE and he beat up this wrestler with 1 leg. It was funny. But, sadly, Patrick Cote, Gabriel Gonzaga, Martin Kampmann, and Paulo Thiago all lost. They all lost decisions so I should be happy that none of them were KO'd or submitted. But I'm ecspecially upset that Cote and Gonzaga lost. They're 2 of my favorite fighters. Cote will probably be cut which sucks, but he can always go to Strikeforce. I always dream that Gonzaga will one day be heavyweight champion, but I don't know if it will ever happen. He should use his ji-jitsu more, but it can be hard to take people down. Oh well. I'm depressed, but I'll get over it. I will always believe in Gonzaga. Always. Seeya around.

My Very First Blog: School, Sleep, and Rock N' Roll (Sort Of)

I'm doing this blog for a class so I don't really know what I should write about. I've never blogged before, but I guess I will describe what happened to me today. I woke up. I didn't eat breakfast. Me and my brother Seth drove to Millersville. It was the first time I had driven to school in a while. My car had around 2,000 dollars worth of problems and it stayed in the shop for a while. Thank God a lot of it was covered under warranty. My dad had been driving me, my 2 brothers and my mom around for quite a few weeks. I'm glad I got my car back and his stress level can go back to normal. I went to the library and tried to finish this book called Hard Times for one of my classes. I barley read though. Too tired. Couldn't focus. I then went to my problem solving with computers class where I created this blog you are reading right now. I thought it would be hard, but it was pretty easy. I came home and I took a nap. It was a really good nap, too. I woke up and I drove my brother to Barnes And Noble where he dropped off an application. My friend Nate texted me. He wanted to hang out. I said sure, but first I had to go to band practice. Sweet lady rock n' roll was calling. Me, my drummer Red and Seth ( who plays guitar and sings) drove to band practice. We have a place downtown where we practice. Red blared Obsession from his car. They're some metal band I never heard of, but they sounded pretty good. The place that we rent has dance classes on weekdays. They're usaully practicing on days we're not there. Sadly, they were practicing on this particular day so we couldn't practice at all because our music would bleed through to the upstairs floor where the dancers were. Me, Red, Seth and Dale ( our other singer/guitarist) just stayed in our room and hung out. We were pissed. We wanted to rock out. We couldn't. We were going to plug in anyways, but we didn't want to be a bunch of jackasses so we stayed quiet. Russian folk dance (or whatever it was) defeating Rock n' Roll? What? Anyways, Red left and Javen and the drummer from his band Sickpritty then came over and hung out with us. Javen lives across the hall from us. We talked about music, etc. I came home and called Nate a few times, but he didn't pick up. It sucked, but it's alright. I then went on the internet and worked on this blog that you are reading now while listening to Sunny Day Real Estate and Jimmy Eat World. They are 2 very respectable bands. It was a pretty good day. The whole Russian folk dancing ( or whatever it was) defeating Rock n' Roll thing was kind of a downer, but it's cool. Hope you enjoyed reading about my day as I enjoyed writing about it. Seeya around.
